The National Lottery Brand and sub brands were going through an enormous refresh with Wolff Olins who led with a brave new design style and brand direction.
I was tasked with bringing the new branding alive through all digital channels. After working through the responsive web, mobile experience the next piece of work was to address the National Lottery App from not just from a brand perspective but as a completely new and improved product. Our aim was to create an app that drew asthetically and emotionally
from the best of the new brand directon.
This was a redesign from the ground up, completely updating the user experience and design which now allowed the user to actually play draw based games through the app.
The core interaction model sat at the heart of the homescreen where a user could access games from an 'Interactive' branded bar which allowed them to move in different directions according to their preference.
Right to play and left to check with time being the base model - play being something in the user's future and check being something in their past. Access your user profile from above.
The design system itself fell into place quite easily after the initial UX had been thought through and approved - after many many iterations of course...
